Even through I don't love reading as much as other people, there are some books that are able to trap me inside of its drama and forces me to keep reading every page until the questions I have are answer, and Contact by Carl Sagan is one of them. This also one of my mom favorite books so I kind of got forced to read it😅.
In Contact by Carl Sagan, scientists detect a signal from space that appears to come from intelligent life. This message are in some weird kind of codes that when solved, gives instructions for a mysterious machine that no one knows how to use it. Therefore the story resumes with Dr. Ellie Arroway (the protagonist) helps interpret the signal and figure out what "the machine" is for, leading to an international effort and a journey that raises questions about science, belief, and communication.
The book it self is interesting and even more if science fiction and space are some themes that you like exploring. I recommended to read the book if you have nothing else to do and it is the only book you have because it is a very interesting and fun book to read that it became one of my favorites and also my moms. (say you like it so my mom feels happier about her favorite book, she doesn't like when people don't know what the book is)

I read a book by Lynn Margulis and Dorion Sagan, who are Carl Sagan's wife and son, respectively. I could see the wealth of scientific knowledge present in their home while reading, and I'm sure that wealth comes through even in fictional books like this one. Great post!
ReplyDeleteThis book sounds very interesting. I am not usually a sci-fi fan, but this sounds like a really good story!
