This Book Made Me Cry
Wow.
When I tell you this book has plot twists, I mean my world was shaken. Multiple times.
Felix Ever After is about Felix, who learns to overcome the discrimination he faces of being a black trans teen. Felix, whose last name is Love, ironically has never been in love or really even felt loved. He constantly has internal battles with himself, wondering if he even is lovable. On top of that, he is struggling with his identity, missing his mom, who left years ago, and trying to figure out who has been anonymously cyber bullying him.
I think this book is great, especially for teens. This is a time in people's lives where we can struggle with feeling like we are enough. This book is so inspiring because Felix finally realizes he is enough. He decides to do everything for himself, not for the admiration of others, or to prove his worth. Suddenly, he seems like a different person, overcome with happiness.
I think there is something in this book that everyone will relate to. It may be struggling with your identity, wondering if you will ever be loved, or even worrying about getting accepted into college. I cannot recommend this book enough.

This sounds like such a moving book! I always "love" when book characters have names relative to the plot. (get it i emphasized love because the characters last name is love and i was talking about how names are relative to the plot)
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like such an impactful story! I think the title of this book really brings it all together and adds to the details mentioning "love" and "happy every after". This sounds like such a great story!
